2. Pour warm vinegar into a spray bottle & apply to the affected area. Let
sit for about 30 minutes & scrub with a sponge or brush. Rinse with clear
water.

3. Moisten a dryer sheet & rub onto dirty area to remove the soap scum.
Rinse with water.

4. Mix one part automatic dishwasher detergent to three parts water. Spray
solution onto the dirty area & let sit for about 15 minutes & scrub with
sponge or brush. Rinse with water.

5. Make a paste of baking soda & water; apply to walls & scrub. Rinse with
water.

6. Tile cleaner will remove buildup caused by soap & hard water.

7. Avon’s “Skin so Soft” body spray is not only an effective insect
repellent, when sprayed onto soap scum, it’s also an effective cleanser.

For best results, clean ur shower directly after it’s been used. The
water & humidity will help loosen the gunk that has built up, making it
easier to remove. There are also a number of products on the market
specifically formulated to remove soap scum from tile walls, but why
purchase expensive chemicals when there are some inexpensive cleaning
products already in ur home? Before bringing home a harsh chemical, first
see if one of the above remedies work.

Once you have ur shower free of soap scum, there are some steps you can
take to prevent future buildup:

1. After every shower, wipe down walls & doors with a chamois cloth or
squeegee. Keep shower walls dry to prevent mildew buildup.

2. Rub shower walls & doors with furniture, car or other paste wax to
prevent the buildup caused by soaps, shampoos, dirt & mineral deposits.
(Caution: Never wax the shower floor. This can cause a very bad fall.)

3. Use liquid gel soap instead of solid bar soap. This will keep talc from
collecting on ur shower walls.

4 Wipe down shower walls & doors with lemon oil to keep soap scum from
building up.

Once you know how to prevent soap scum, it will be easier to keep ur
shower clean & you won’t have to spend hours each year trying to remove
these stubborn stains. Your shower will shine!

TILEX, I swear by it in my bathroom. We have a household of six

so the bathroom, the only one we all use, gets pretty dirty after a couple

In some areas of the country the water is slightly acidic.

This might have etched the surface of the glass. Try some Lime Away, or

CLR & be sure to wear rubber gloves since the products contain acid.. If

pitted.

IF the glass is pitted you have two options, Live with it or replace the
door. If you replace the door the best way to keep it looking good for a
long time is to purchase a squeegee designed for showers. They come with
a handy hook for the wall. After the shower, just squeegee off the door
before you get out. This is the best way since you are warm & water is
running off of you, then the towel will be less wet when you dry yourself.

Vinegar and baking soda - make a paste, rub on with a plastic

scrub pad and rinse off. Works great and is non-toxic.

I use things like Tilex or Scrubbing Bubbles, but I use a nylon

scrubbie (the kind that is a nylon net tied into a bundle - made for

Avon Skin-So Soft, the original. It works great on wood, too,

When using it in the tub or shower, just be careful not to get any on the

floor of the tub or shower, it is quite slippery. I put an old towel down
